Selank is a synthetic peptide, structurally related to a natural immune peptide called tuftsin, developed by Russian researchers and registered there since 2009 as a prescription anti-anxiety medication. Published Russian trials over roughly two decades report anxiolytic effects across GAD, neurasthenia, and cognitive-complaint populations, along with a low reported rate of dependence or withdrawal — but these findings have not been validated through large, multi-center, placebo-controlled Western trials with pre-registered endpoints.
